I started my weight loss journey in June of 2010 after having my third child. It was time to get healthy and get in shape. I joined Weight Watchers and successfully lost about 50 pounds during the first year. I realized I needed to add in more exercise. I made excuses….I had 3 kids. I had a full time job. I was getting ready to go back to school to get my master’s degree. I didn’t have time. BUT I knew it was what I had to do. My sister in law, Deanna, talked me in to joining Chix in Training. I wasn’t thrilled with the idea of working out at 5:00 am, but with my busy life it seemed like the only time that I could fit it in. I reluctantly joined thinking there is no way I can do this. I completed my first boot camp in June 2011, and I have been hooked ever since! I get up at 4:00 am ready to go! You have to want it. I realized I can balance working out, my family, my job, and school.
I just completed my first 10K. Training with the Chix for our marathon events was an awesome experience. Our long runs together were so inspiring. Passing each other on the course and hearing words of encouragement all along the way are what kept me going! Race day was just as exciting. Watching my fellow Chix cross the finish line and cheering each other one made the training and hard work worthwhile.
Since joining Chix in Training I have lost just over 100 lbs. I can’t explain how grateful I am to Tish and Rebekah for pushing me when I didn’t think I could do it. The results have been amazing, but more importantly is the incredible support from my fellow Chix. I wouldn’t be where I am without their motivation and support. I look forward to continuing my journey with all of the Chix and reaching my goals!
